5% of House Plan Sales Will Go to Fisher House Foundation
for Two-Month Periods in Spring and Fall

Everyone here at The Plan Collection is driven by the simple idea that great house design should be affordable and readily accessible to everyone. However, even more important than house design is the desire of each and every one of us to have a home. A home can take any form: an apartment, a townhouse or a single-family house, but one constant that makes a house a home is the feeling of warmth when you walk in the door. Whether it’s from your family, your friends, your dog or your cat, you know that when you walk in the door, you’re home.

This universal desire for a place to call home is the reason why we have decided to partner with Fisher House Foundation during the months of April, May, October and November by donating 5% of all house plans sales. The mission of Fisher House Foundation is to ensure families of service men and women have a "home away from home" on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers, enabling family members to be close when their loved one is hospitalized for an unexpected illness, disease or injury.

It is only natural that The Plan Collection partner with an organization that not only provides homes, but serves the needs of those who defend our own home through their military service. “We were immediately drawn to this worthwhile charity,” said Brian Toolan, chief executive of The Plan Collection. “As Americans, we appreciate the service and sacrifice made by our military and believe it is our responsibility to offer assistance to those in need.”

The months of April and May were selected to coincide with Memorial Day and the events leading up to that holiday. Similarly, the months of October and November were selected to bring more attention to Veterans Day. Our website will have a link to the Fisher House Foundation website, fisherhouse.org, to further raise awareness and provide the ability for users to donate directly to this charity, which was awarded an A+ by the American Institute of Philanthropy and a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.

“Fisher House Foundation has been serving military, Veterans and their families for 25 years,” said Dave Coker, president of Fisher House Foundation. “But we don’t do it alone. We depend on partners like The Plan Collection to help us build awareness and homes.”

There are 64 Fisher Houses located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, and in Europe, close to the medical center or hospital it serves. Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room and an inviting living room. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is never a lodging fee. Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $282 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
