As this home amply illustrates, log cabins just keep getting better. This modern log home blends rustic appeal with all the amenities you'd expect to find in a contemporary home. The plan is designed for construction on a lot with a down slope on the view side. An array of windows sparkle across the central section, which has a traditional A-frame shape. The homes entry is on the opposite side, where you come in through a vaulted and covered porch, rimmed by slender log handrails. Entering, you step into the expansive great room, where an abundance of light washes in through windows on two levels. The room is vaulted on the vista side, and a free-standing wood stove nestles into the left corner by the windows. On the right, the great room is open to a vaulted, C-shaped kitchen. Counters and cupboards wrap around parts of three sides, while a cook-top work island anchors the center. The kitchen offers side and rear views, while more light spills down through a skylight. A kitchen door leads onto a wide suspended deck that spans the rear, ideal for outdoor living when the weather allows. The kitchen also links to an exceptionally roomy pantry and a utility room with direct access to the garage. A convenient powder room is right around the corner. The vaulted owners suite fills the opposite wing. It, too, offers deck access and yet another set of windows with magnificent views. A skylight brightens the bathroom, which is located next to a deep walk-in closet. Everything upstairs in the #108-1550 is vaulted, including the loft, bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. A richly windowed, unfinished daylight basement is below.

Each plan set includes the following:

  • ARTIST'S RENDERING: An artist's drawing of the home, usually viewed from the front, and general construction notes.
  • FRONT, REAR, AND SIDE ELEVATIONS: The front, rear, and side elevations of the house as drawn. Shows placement of doors & windows on exterior of the house, as well as roof pitches, ridge heights, and locations of chimney, exterior vents, etc. The elevations show the positioning of the final grade of the lot, exterior finishes, and other details that are necessary to give the home exterior architectural styling.
  • MAIN FLOOR PLAN: Each plan set is drawn at 1/4"=1' scale. Showing the placement and dimensions of all walls, windows, and doors. Includes the location of appliances, plumbing fixtures, beams, ceiling heights, etc.
  • SECOND FLOOR PLAN (if any): Shows the second floor in the same detail as the main floor. Includes second floor framing and details.
  • FOUNDATION PLAN: Shows the location of all concrete footings, floor beams, first floor framing, and foundation details. If there is a basement, a basement plan is included which shows all basement details.
  • ROOF FRAMING PLAN: Shows roof outlines, conventional framing/trusses, beams, roof framing details, etc.
  • SECTIONS AND DETAILS: Shows a cross-section of the home. Shows support members, exterior and interior materials, insulation, and foundation. Specific details such as fireplaces, stairways, decks, etc. are drawn at 1/2" = 1' scale, and appear as needed throughout the prints. These details can be helpful for the contractor.
  • ELECTRICAL PLAN: A schematic layout of all lighting, switches, and electrical outlets.

These items are NOT included:

  • Architectural or Engineering Stamp - handled locally if required.
