Luxury House Plans' Newest
One of our most decorated luxury home designers has just released a new plan. Their work ranges from house plans like the Pontarion II, the Chateau Novella, and the Caserta. Designing luxury house plans requires a honed sense of style, a heightened sense of taste, and an acute attention to detail. Their dedication to the pursuit of these qualities has led them to create the Cheverny. In an elegant display of classic architecture, house plan Cheverny is a graceful environment. The stone exterior, arched windows and entry, steeply hipped roof, and gothic spires speak of a chivalrous age long ago. Though nostalgic, these house plans offer the best accommodations for modern amenities and, with the help of a green savvy designer or builder can be Read more

Luxury Log House Plans
Looking at a home in all of its contexts is an important step in choosing a particular design. In fact, it makes the home plans, or the house plans, or whatever your preferred phrase may be, just that much more important. The plans must have the context of the home inherent in the design. So what are the contexts; what do we look for in a home? To be fair, we must note that the answer is different for everyone. It depends on your last home, and what it lacked or didn’t lack. It depends on how much you have to spend… well, usually anyway. Too often we think of house plans in terms of how many square feet, how many bedrooms, how many bathrooms, etc. Instead we need to think about the indoor environment Read more

Luxurious Craftsman on the Beach
DDI103-206, one of our best Craftsman house plans, is truly something to behold. After just one look, you can see that a lot of time and effort was involved in designing this charming set of house plans. This home designer was able to incorporate so many unique and exciting features, and at the same time, avoided the pitfalls that are often associated with luxury home design. Oftentimes, a luxury home will offer every amenity, but it just feels forced or rushed - like the designer was trying too hard and included features that just don't fit. Although they are designed specifically for comfort, luxury plans often lack that indefinable quality that makes a house a home. This is where DDI103-206 breaks away from the mold. This l Read more

Southern house plans wouldn't be southern if they didn't display the generous hospitality known for the region. House plan number SU-5669-2538-1607-I has a long name and a longer list of outstanding features. Without question, this southern belle has a sense of hospitality to the owner and visitors alike. The stunning and refined look of the exterior is easy on the eyes and very inviting. The style gives an Italian villa on a horse ranch kind of feel. Upon entering, you are greeted with a large two story foyer with formal rooms at either side. The great room is beyond and is open to the large kitchen. A guest room with a private full bathroom ensures that friends and family are welcome. The main floor also enjoys one mor Read more

A True Craftsman
Home design has long been plagued by home budgets. Sky rocketing costs have pushed us to build track homes and other poorly designed homes to keep the cost low and the profit high. The damages this has caused are various and are topics of more in-depth discussions. Suffice it to say that theyve created a cost driven society that ignores quality in areas like proper indoor flow, aesthetic detail, materials, environmental safety, health, etc. Home designers arent to blame for this, and neither are builders. Society evolved this way and its a problem in more than just homes. Lets look at a home that strives for something beyond quick construction, low cost, and mediocre design. The Corbin Park, from one of our newest home designer Read more

Luxurious Mountain Craftsman House Plans
This is the Avalon. It is a spacious craftsman lodge home with its style rooted in the past.   Near the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, society was changing forever. Everyone was interested in machinery, and automobiles were the all the rage. The world was caught up in the Industrial Revolution, and Home Design was also in the midst of change.   Victorian Homes, with all their pomp and pageantry, had been the height of style, but views were changing. While much of society was caught up in everything modern, there were some people that still remembered and cherished the workmanship of yesteryear. Names like William Morris and Gustav Stickley were strong advocates for the return to Craftsmanship. Read more

Mountain Home Plans – Stylish Ingenuity
Mountain Home Plans, like almost any other style of architecture, were developed foremost for function. While settling fertile mountain valleys overlooked by the snowcapped peaks of the Rocky Mountains, people needed homes that could withstand the long harsh winters. The result of the settlers' ingenuity is known today as Mountain style home design. Mountain house plans are a hybrid of several stylish and functional types of home design. They often combine the rough-cut quality of Craftsman House Plans with the rustic appeal found in Log Cabins. Mountain houseplans also borrow design principles from Swiss chalets in order to provide you with a stylish home that was made to adapt.   This is R3102b. Read more

Luxury European Home Plans
Some of the most recognizable and attractive homes around are European House Plans. There is just something about the "Old World" charm that draws people's attention and commands their respect. Even with their bold style, European Home Plans offer the utmost comfort. In fact, European-style architecture is sometimes synonymous with Luxury Home Design. GMLC-929 is a very luxurious European home plan. It offers a sprawling layout with elegant style. Its single story design includes a large vaulted family room with so many windows that it almost gives you the feeling of sitting under a covered porch. Speaking of porches, there is a very inviting covered lanai that is perfect for almost any season. Near the master bedroom is Read more

Small House Plans -- Big on Comfort!
The common attitude today is that "Bigger is Better." People will do almost anything to own the biggest and the best. The homebuilding industry usually seems to follow this trend. When people think about Luxury Homes, they think that size equals luxury. Recent trends, however, indicate that attitudes might be changing. People are beginning to be much more energy-conscious and as a result, our designs are evolving. All the time, you see people trading in their large SUV's for smaller, more economical hybrids. Attitudes of homeowners are changing as well. Not only do large homes cost much more to build; they can also be quite expensive to heat and cool. It seems like the homebuilding industry is beginning to lean toward designi Read more

Small, yet Luxurious!
Y'know, it's not every day that you come across a house plan under 2,000 square feet that can provide the amenities expected of a luxury home. That's why we're so pleased to present one of our newest additions to our Craftsman Home collection, the Canterbury. Although the Canterbury may not offer any sprawling open expanses, its living areas are sufficient for almost any family. Just look at the living room and the master bedroom, for example. Both of these important rooms feel larger than they actually are because of their 10 foot tray ceilings and thoughtful layout. Every nook and cranny incorporates a useful design. Closets, pantries, and storage spaces abound in this stylish little bungalow. I don't want to spend all d Read more

Log Cabin Luxury
Recently, my family and I spent a weekend just outside of West Yellowstone. It was amazing! We went to all the great tourist places: Yellowstone Park, Quake Lake, and Big Spring, to name a few. The crisp fall mornings were beautiful! But surprisingly, one of the highlights of the trip was the cabin we rented. The rustic comfort of a cozy log cabin is something that has to be experienced. It has a feeling all its own. There is nothing quite like sitting down in front of a cheery fireplace with a blanket and a warm cup of hot chocolate. Equally relaxing is the pleasure that comes from taking a nap in a cabin loft with the rain falling gently on the metal roof. The Plan Collection offers a large selection of Log Cabin House P Read more

New Luxury Home Plans!
We have recently added a few new home designs to our list of Luxury Home Plans. Allow me to introduce you to one of the most outstanding: This is the Eagle. It is such a nice luxury house plan. It has a very appealing exterior. In fact, with all of the covered porch space, I'd be tempted to spend more time outside than I would inside. Of course, that's just an exaggeration. Inside you also have some very relaxing areas. For instance, the Eagle provides a spectacular living room, a quiet den, and a casual living room (all on the main floor). There is even a separate home office, a lounge, and a library downstairs. The Eagle also provides two areas for dining. There is a formal dining room, as well as a casual dining Read more

Luxurious Country House Plans
Luxurious Country Home Design This luxurious set of Country House Plans is called the Dover, and let me tell you -- it also knows a thing or two about luxury home design. Aside from its attractive country craftsman style, the Dover is committed to providing you with the most open and spacious floor plan available. Each room is so large and airy, but the Dover is constantly finding ways to open things up even more. For instance, check out the way that you get a straight shot from one end of the family room all the way over to the opposite wall of the country kitchen -- talk about "wide open spaces." The Dover also does a fantastic job of using every available inch to provide you with the amenities you deserve. Let's tak Read more

Country House Plans = Relaxed Luxury
Country House Plans House Plans come in many different shapes and styles (Click Here for a complete list of House Plan Styles on The Plan Collection). You see everything from sprawling Mediterranean villas and European estates to cozy bungalows and Tudor-style cottages. With such a wide selection, people can often get a bit overwhelmed when it comes to choosing a style for their new home. No matter what style you choose, there is one fact that is simply undeniable -- it's hard to beat the relaxed luxury of a good Country House Plan. Take HPG-2500-1, for instance. Imagine the smell of a family barbeque as you're sitting on the covered rear porch, complete with an outdoor kitchen, on a cool summer evening; or feel the warm s Read more

Country Luxury
The problem with most Luxury Homes nowadays is that they usually seem kind of stiff and cold. They may provide a lot of luxurious features, but the home itself just seems to create a rather uptight atmosphere. It makes it terribly difficult to be able to relax and live life at the luxurious pace you want. Country Home Plans, on the other hand, are designed to provide you with a quaint, down-home lifestyle on any budget. Country Homes don't hold onto any false pretenses, they aren't out to impress anyone (although they are often quite impressive), and they allow you to be yourself and enjoy family. So the solution seems pretty simple -- just combine the two styles to make a Country Luxury Home. Thats actually easier sa Read more

Practical Luxury Home Plans
What do you think of when you hear the words "Luxury Home"? Most people probably envision frivolous mansions, sprawling European manors, and echoing cavernous living areas that are as cold and snobbish as they are expensive. Although this might be the case with many luxury homes, you're sure to change your mind after having a look at GMLD-955. On one hand, GMLD-955 is large (4,955 square feet), but it is still rather modest when compared to other luxury homes. However, it's the thoughtful and practical layout that really makes this house plan shine. GMLD-955 is very stately and impressive from the approach, especially when looking at the twin courtyard garages. The sense of awe continues as you enter the raised foyer and catch Read more
