Arts and Crafts Home Plans
Arts and crafts style homes are sometimes referred to as craftsman homes. Some of the features that identify these homes are: · Exposed rafters, beams or rafter ends in the eaves. · Corbels or triangular shaped trim pieces in the gables. · Dormers. Generally shed dormers were the most common however these plans were also designed with gable and hipped dormers. · Foundations that slope outward as they get closer to the ground. These foundations were often constructed of rock. · Generally the exteriors were a wood siding or stone with masonry chimneys. · Large porches along the front of the home. · Bungalow style homes were often of Arts and Crafts styling. · Interior trim work is generally simple, squ Read more

Bungalow House Plans
Click on the Image to view this floor plan. Bungalows are some of the most common homes found in older neighborhoods of America. These homes became very popular from the 1910's to the 1930's. Bungalows are generally narrow but deep homes often with detached or no garages. These homes are usually one story but sometimes 1-½ stories high. Bungalows usually have a small porch with columns set in large brick bases. These porches are often enclosed with screens to keep the bugs away on the summer nights on the porch. Sears and Roebuck sold many Bungalow home plans and materials kits through their mail order catalog. Read more

A Masculine Cottage, A Feminine Craftsman
Home plans come in many varieties, large and small, plain and detailed. 119-1232 is a very exclusive variety not commonly found just anywhere. This design is full of character, charm, and a good blend of masculinity and femininity. In other words, it has a rustic nature to it that's cottage enough to be cute and craftsman enough to keep a mature, slightly rigid, architecture.   This plan stands out because of its curb appeal and masterful blend of styles. The blend is what achieves the natural aesthetic, and the masculine/feminine neutrality. The basic structure of the house is rigid and square in nature, based on a Bungalow design. The floor plan follows this rigidity, managing transition from private to mo Read more

Small, yet Luxurious!
Y'know, it's not every day that you come across a house plan under 2,000 square feet that can provide the amenities expected of a luxury home. That's why we're so pleased to present one of our newest additions to our Craftsman Home collection, the Canterbury. Although the Canterbury may not offer any sprawling open expanses, its living areas are sufficient for almost any family. Just look at the living room and the master bedroom, for example. Both of these important rooms feel larger than they actually are because of their 10 foot tray ceilings and thoughtful layout. Every nook and cranny incorporates a useful design. Closets, pantries, and storage spaces abound in this stylish little bungalow. I don't want to spend all d Read more

A Nice Country Craftsman Design
Check this out! This is House Plan HPG-2199. As you can see, it has a nice, clean Craftsman style exterior and an inviting covered porch, but that isn't all! The old adage may say "Don't judge a book by its cover," but one could also argue that you should never judge a house solely based on its exterior façade. The great room is really cool with its raised ceiling. The fireplace and covered back porch are also a couple of nice features. Some people might really like how the master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house, when compared to the other three bedrooms. The flex space is pretty neat because you can use that room for any purpose you can think of: it could be a den/library, a formal dining area, a music room, Read more
