Now is the time to find Your Dream Home!

Autumn is a great time to look for House Plans!

As you know, fall is just around the corner. The days are now getting shorter, the weather is getting cooler, and leaves are starting to change colors. With all this change in the air, I have to ask -- can you think of a better time to start looking for your dream home?

Now is the perfect time to start looking through house plans for at least two reasons.

1) The Market

As most of you know, the housing market has been in a bit of a slump. In fact, according to some experts, we are experiencing the biggest U.S. Housing slump in 40 years! That information may sound quite dismal, but there are some benefits that many people fail to realize.

For years, material suppliers have catered their business to production builders -- you know, home builders that construct dozens of spec homes a year. Well, now that the market has slowed down, those production builders have cut down their productivity. So suppliers are currently offering phenomenal deals to homeowners and builders alike. Lumber prices, for instance, are at their lowest in five years! With fewer homes being built, you will also see a lot more competition between builders and subcontractors. That means better quality service and lower prices!

2) No Rush

Let's face it, building a new home is stressful. It may be one of the most stressful periods of your life. So why add to that stress by rushing things?

A home is a major investment, and purchasing a set of house plans is usually your first step. Here at The Plan Collection, we try to make that step as simple and stress-free as possible. Too often, people wear themselves to a frazzle before they have even begun building. Much of this stress could be avoided if they would just slow things down a bit. Take the time to find out as much as you can about the houseplans before you purchase them, and don't make appointments with the bank or the building committee until after you have received the plans. I promise that doing so will save you a lot of trouble.

If you want to avoid the rush, autumn is probably the perfect time to start looking at house plans. You can take your time and get everything taken care of during the winter months, so that you'll be totally ready to build during the spring and summer.

The Plan Collection is committed to helping you find the home you've always dreamed of. Don't hesitate to contact us if you need some help searching, or if you have a question. We're here to help. Happy house hunting!
