  • Modern Comfort and Style

As you can tell, this Modern Home Plan is the Skiatook. This is one book that is safe to judge by its cover. You can tell that it's got a lot of style just by watching the 3D video, but I want to take some time to tell you just how comfortable and livable it is on the inside. The Skiatook is impressive from the very first moment that it comes into view, but it just keeps getting better. As a guest, you would immediately notice the awesome two-story glass foyer greeting you as you approach the house, but you would also find that the Skiatook is unique in several ways. Unlike many homeplans, the first story of the Skiatook is devoted mostly to bedrooms; Bedroom 2, in particular, is very nice. At 17' 6" x 13' 6", you definitely won't be feeling cramped; but you

This little pearl is HPG-800-1, and it proves once and for all that size doesn't matter when it comes to country homes. Like many Country House Plans, HPG-800-1 offers a covered front porch that just radiates comfort and relaxation. • A Nice Country Craftsman Design

A Nice Country Craftsman Design Check this out! This is House Plan HPG-2199. As you can see, it has a nice, clean Craftsman style exterior and an inviting covered porch, but that isn't all! The old adage may say "Don't judge a book by its cover," but one could also argue that you should never judge a house solely based on its exterior façade. The great room is really cool with its raised ceiling. The fireplace and covered back porch are also a couple of nice features. Some people might really like how the master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house, when compared to the other three bedrooms. The flex space is pretty neat because you can use that room for any purpose you can think of: it could be a den/library, a formal dining area, a music room, home office, etc. You are only limited by your

From the front, it appears to be a very neat and simple ranch-style rambler, but upon entering, you are sure to be amazed by the two story living room below. This loft/entry area offers the potential for some very good times indeed, but just you wait until you check out the lower level! At 27'-0" x 12'-6", the kitchen can only be described as "behemoth." It is so big and offers so much cupboard space, but that's not all. There is a cozy little sun room nearby that is absolutely perfect for Saturday morning breakfast. Don't forget about the

  • New Luxury Home Plans!

New Luxury Home Plans! We have recently added a few new home designs to our list of Luxury Home Plans. Allow me to introduce you to one of the most outstanding: This is the Eagle. It is such a nice luxury house plan. It has a very appealing exterior. In fact, with all of the covered porch space, I'd be tempted to spend more time outside than I would inside. Of course, that's just an exaggeration. Inside you also have some very relaxing areas. For instance, the Eagle provides a spectacular living room, a quiet den, and a casual living room (all on the main floor). There is even a separate home office, a lounge, and a library downstairs. The Eagle also provides two areas for dining. There is a formal dining room, as well as a casual dining area. But don't assume that this home is only for

French Country Home Design for Today's Family Do you appreciate the Old World feel of a French Country home? Well, have I got a houseplan for you! This is the Weston, and you'll have a hard time finding another home that is this stylish and this versatile. This 3,500 square foot charmer can easily accommodate almost any lifestyle. • Small, yet Luxurious!

Small, yet Luxurious! Y'know, it's not every day that you come across a house plan under 2,000 square feet that can provide the amenities expected of a luxury home. That's why we're so pleased to present one of our newest additions to our Craftsman Home collection, the Canterbury. Although the Canterbury may not offer any sprawling open expanses, its living areas are sufficient for almost any family. Just look at the living room and the master bedroom, for example. Both of these important rooms feel larger than they actually are because of their 10 foot tray ceilings and thoughtful layout. Every nook and cranny incorporates a useful design. Closets, pantries, and storage spaces abound in this stylish little bungalow. I don't want to spend all day describing the little details found in the

  • Small House Plans -- Big on Comfort!

Small House Plans -- Big on Comfort!   The common attitude today is that "Bigger is Better." People will do almost anything to own the biggest and the best. The homebuilding industry usually seems to follow this trend. When people think about Luxury Homes, they think that size equals luxury. Recent trends, however, indicate that attitudes might be changing. People are beginning to be much more energy-conscious and as a result, our designs are evolving. All the time, you see people trading in their large SUV's for smaller, more economical hybrids. Attitudes of homeowners are changing as well. Not only do large homes cost much more to build; they can also be quite expensive to heat and cool. It seems like the homebuilding industry is beginning to lean toward designing smaller and more compact home plans. The

  • Mountain Home Plans – Stylish Ingenuity

Mountain Home Plans – Stylish Ingenuity   Mountain Home Plans, like almost any other style of architecture, were developed foremost for function. While settling fertile mountain valleys overlooked by the snowcapped peaks of the Rocky Mountains, people needed homes that could withstand the long harsh winters. The result of the settlers' ingenuity is known today as Mountain style home design. Mountain house plans are a hybrid of several stylish and functional types of home design. They often combine the rough-cut quality of Craftsman House Plans with the rustic appeal found in Log Cabins. Mountain houseplans also borrow design principles from Swiss chalets in order to provide you with a stylish home that was made to adapt.   This is R3102b. It is a perfect example of Mountain Style Home

  • Luxurious Mountain Craftsman House Plans

Luxurious Mountain Craftsman House Plans   This is the Avalon. It is a spacious craftsman lodge home with its style rooted in the past. Near the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, society was changing forever. Everyone was interested in machinery, and automobiles were the all the rage. The world was caught up in the Industrial Revolution, and Home Design was also in the midst of change. Victorian Homes, with all their pomp and pageantry, had been the height of style, but views were changing. While much of society was caught up in everything modern, there were some people that still remembered and cherished the workmanship of yesteryear. Names like William Morris and Gustav Stickley were strong advocates for the return to Craftsmanship. They designed homes simply, so that good craftsmanship was

The Cadillac mixes design principles from the Tudor style with a somewhat traditional country shell and the effect is amazing! • Great Photos of a Great Plan

Great Photos of a Great Plan   We just got some fresh pics from one of our favorite designers. The house shown is the NDG-844, a great solution for mainstream suburbia. The house is built with practically no modifications, which makes it nice for comparison with the plan. Check out the beautiful pictures below.     The great room is wide open with an eating bar at the kitchen. Though the plans won’t come with any decoration packages, the designer has a Design Plan in a Can for sale.     The kitchen is probably my favorite part of this house. It’s plenty large and packs a whole lot of storage. The style here is great. I love the industrial look of the ceiling in contrast to the more traditional feel of the granite countertops and wood

  • What's HOT

What's HOT The Housing Industry is amazing.  I can’t believe all the new designs, the unique ideas, and all the design styles.  There are so many!  As a student of Interior Design and Architecture, and as an employee of one of the top ranked house plan websites in the world, I see all kinds of houses and buildings of every flavor.  One observation I’ve made is that building trends, especially in housing, seem to be regional.  There are several factors that determine what’s going to be hot in your area, and why it’s not always hot 1,000 miles away. Factor 1:  The Classics.  Classic designs and architecture are found everywhere.  They influence every design.  A great example of classic architecture and design is Roman
