My husband and I really love the look of this house and that is suits our needs, but our lot depth and the requirements for front and back yards means that we will have to modify it to be 10 feet less in depth. We also want to extend the depth of the kitchen/nook area and great room. It looks like we will have to basically make the back of the house flat, which isn't a huge deal, we can add some landscaping features to give us privacy. I am thinking that we would basically take 5' off the depth of the master bath and add it to the side, move the garage 5' into the house, and extend that side of the house by about 8-10 feet, making the entire back of the house flush. That would make the overall depth 10 feet less without actually cutting down on the square footage of the house. Anyone have thoughts or knowledge on if this will work from a structural standpoint? Also, would it be possible to make the back bedroom on the 2nd floor larger or structurally would that not work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
