Alternative Construction Methods?

Could you explain what is meant by the Alternative Construction Methods: Insulated Concrete Forms? Does this mean the house is to be built using this method, OR does it mean this is a possible alternative? The specific house plan we are considering is the ADI11-029 Coronado. Our home's location would be the Midwest. The traditional method of construction here is wood-framed.

That means the house is designed for that type of construction.  You can have the plan modified by the designer, or you can purchase a modifiable set of documents and have them done locally.

I guess I didn't communicate my question effectively. Sorry. What is this construction type? What are Insulated Concrete Forms?

We have purchased the review set of plans and it says nothing about "Insulated Concrete Forms". In fact, it says nothing about the construction of the house other than the roof being wood trusses. I am now in a quandry. The review set told us nothing more than we could read on the website, actually less. The only thing we gained was a line-drawing of the 2 sides of the house we couldn't see on the website. At $50, I guess that worked out to be $25 per side we hadn't seen.

How will we know if we need the plan modified before we spend several hundred dollar buying the plan? Can someone look at the actual plan before we purchase and tell us what the home is constructed with?

 Thanks. K

Well after much deliberation, we have decided to go with a different home plan. The fact we were unable to determine the construction method necessary weighed heavily on our decision. Happy building to all.

For your wooden frame, I suggest that you use wooden construction connectors that are safe and reliable---can hold strongly and tightly.
