It seems to me that the homes of today are no different than homes designed 100 years ago. I do not see any plans which suggest that they are taking into consideration the cost of heating or cooling using solar, wind or bio fuels. Those few homes which bother to utilize passive solar energy are quite small. Are there no designers with imagination who can fully utilize modern technology to make a 3-4 bedroom home fully able to generate all needed energy with anything approaching style ?
